When We Become New Parents
When the baby joins our family, we imagine it will be similar to when Nico was a baby. We will take daily family walks around the neighborhood to visit the local parks and cafes. We will spend lots of time at home cooking and having family over for meals. When the baby is a little older, we will venture out to the zoo and take short hikes. Tracy is looking forward to being a stay at home mom. In addition, Alfredo plans on taking paternity leave.
As parents, we plan on providing a good education because we believe that it’s essential for success in life. We’ll make sure our children have the opportunity to go to college. We also plan to introduce our children to art, music, sports, theater, and diverse cultures.
Open Adoption The Right Choice For Us
We’ve always envisioned having at least two or more kids. We’d like Nico to have a brother or sister to share his life with. Open adoption seemed like a natural answer for us. Tracy grew up with friends who were adopted and has seen firsthand the ways that adoption brings love to families.
We will communicate openly about the adoption with our son, Nico, and our baby. From the beginning we’d explain that another mama helped us grow our family, and will talk openly and often about how he or she came into our family. If you were open to it, we’d be happy to tell your child about your life, family, and culture. We really like the idea of open adoption and having an ongoing relationship with you if that feels right. We’d love to explore that with you.
